Tasting a winter tea: Winter Frost
Have you ever tried a black tea that would like to be a green tea? What
an odd question you may think, but this is what I thought when I tried WinterFrost tea, from the Karma Tea Co.

Winter Frost is a tea from the Nilgiri Hills, in South India. It is harvested in winter, between January and February, during a short period when it is very cold, but sunny. Its name comes from the frost that covers the hills during the night because of the cold.
These conditions produce this beautiful tea that, despite being a black tea, has hints of green tea; it is like it brings the promise of spring. It is a light and refreshing tea with sweet honey notes.
Winter Frost is from the Karma Tea Co. and it is produced by Tea Studio, a factory formed and run by only women. The tea comes from local farms and it is free of chemicals.
I think this is the first winter tea I have tried. Usually, the teas we drink are from spring - the most prized teas, specially the first flush - and summer.
